MANAGING DIRECTOR/PRINCIPAL WATER ENGINEER
Dr. Macintosh has over 30 years professional civil engineering experience with the last 25 years in the water engineering field. His experience is broad and covers specialist investigation, design and computer modelling within the hydraulic, hydrological, geotechnical and hydrogeological fields. Ancillary areas of special interest include the practical application of new technologies, such as remote sensing and satellite imagery, radar for flood warning, and geographic information systems. His work as taken him to a variety of countries in South East Asia and the South Pacific on both aid based and commercially funded projects.In October 1995 Dr. Macintosh established Water Solutions Pty Ltd with the key objective of providing specialist services within the water resources & engineering fields.

Toby McGrath has over 20 years of experience in water resources including significant experience in water planning and management, surface water hydrology and hydraulics, catchment and floodplain management, water policy, water information management, water approvals and compliance, asset management, real-time flood operations, climate change and project management. Commencing his career with the Queensland Water Resources Commission, Toby fulfilled roles with the Department of Natural Resources, SunWater and KBR before moving to Water Solutions in 2012. Toby is the Queensland representative on Engineers Australia’s National Committee on Water Engineering, and recently chaired the Organising Committee for the 34th IAHR World Congress. In the wake of the severe 2010/11 Queensland Floods, Toby was pleased to assist the Queensland Chief Scientist to prepare the report ‘Understanding Floods: Questions and Answers’.
Dr Louise Reeves
BSc(Hons) PhD MAusIMM
SENIOR ASSOCIATE / PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST
Dr Louise Reeves has a PhD in geochemistry, and has worked in the mining industry in various capacities for the past 12 years. For the past 6 years she has specialized in strategic water management, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by mining operations in the tropical north of Australia. Her particular area of interest is the integrated forecasting of water inventory and quality to optimize water treatment design and capacity.
BE Mechanical Engineering
Nathan studied science and engineering at The University of Queensland, graduating in 2016. Nathan has a keen interest in computer programming and computational modelling. Nathan joined the Water Solutions Team as a Graduate Engineer in June 2016, and has been exposed to a diverse range of projects gaining experience in areas of hydrological analysis, hydraulic design and mine water management.
Nathan is currently a graduate member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia and is working towards full membership.
